World Cup Tips for Friday 20th

June 20, 2014 •

pirloThis World Cup continues to entertain. There’s been some great games so far and today looks to be no different. A mixed bag of results yesterday. I hope you were on no goalscorer in the Japan v Greece game and also on Suarez to score first and Rooney to score at any time.

Even with drawing a blank in the Columbia v Ivory Coast game and England losing, you would still have been onto a tidy profit. Let’s hope we can keep it going today. US players can  bet with Bovada.

Italy v Costa Rica

Costa Rica were impressive against Uruguay in their opener. They looked to have a great deal of pace and power going forward. Italy also dominated their match against England. They don’t seem to vary their play much over the years. They are built on the ability to keep the ball and keep things tight at the back. Costa Rica’s high tempo approach could be just the way to get a result against them. The double chance bet of Costa Rica to win or the tie to be a draw looks like a good one in this instance.

You can get this at 7/5 with Bet365, BetVictor and Totesport, while the same bet is available at 8/5 with Bovada. There has yet to be a free kick scored in this tournament. Andrea Pirlo came closest when he hit the crossbar against England. He’ll be looking to improve on this today and is 19/5 to score at anytime with 888.Sport or 3/1 with Bovada.

Top Bet: Pirlo to score at anytime at 19/5 with 888Sport or 3/1 with Bovada

Switzerland V France

Switzerland will be a tough nut for France to crack. Yes, France have more quality, but the Swiss look well-organised and disciplined. Their late winner against Ecuador showed they have a good spirit and they won’t roll over against France. It should be a tight game. Under 1.5 goals is 9/4 with William Hills, Totesport and Bet365. I can see Switzerland grabbing a victory in this one. A 1-0 Swiss win is 14/1 with William Hills and 11/1 with Bovada. This is a big price.

The Swiss will first and foremost try to keep a clean sheet and then maybe steal a goal on the counter. On the other hand, a draw would suit both teams as they would both fancy getting the win needed to qualify in their final game. A 1-1 draw is 13/2 to Ladbrokes, BetVictor and Betfred or 11/2 with Bovada.

Top Bet: Switzerland to win 1-0 at 14/1 with Willam Hill or 11/1 with Bovada.

Honduras v Ecuador

In reality, neither side is going to qualify so it could be these two are already playing for pride. Ecuador were decent against Switzerland, but I feel the 2-1 scoreline flattered them somewhat as Switzerland were in control for much of the match. Honduras were easily beaten by France, but I don’t think there is much between them and Ecuador.

Honduras look over-priced at 19/4 with Bet365, BetVictor and 888.Sport or 9/2 with Bovada. I can see this being a feisty affair and the 3/1 on offer from William Hills for there to be a sending off looks a distinct possibility. This is 9/4 with Bovada.

Top Bet: Honduras to win at 19/4 with Bet365, BetVictor and 888Sport or 9/2 with Bovada.
