Football

Leicester 4 – 0 Swansea

That’s 8 points between the Foxes and Spurs, the latter have a game in hand and are hosting West Brom tomorrow. No Vardy, loads of goals. Hmmm (manufactured ‘hmmm’, in fairness). Mahrez (with a hand-assisted goal), Ulloa with two and Albrighton did the job for the leaders.

Cob’s Previews:

Sunderland 0 – 0 Arsenal (Sunday) Cob predicted Arsenal win – incorrect

Cob predicted first a Sunderland win and then switched to an Arsenal win. Neither happened. Both sides had penalty appeals turned down and Sunderland had a free kick come back off the post. Arsenal had the better of chances in the first half but could only muster two shots on goal in the second half. Giroud now 14 games without a goal in the league. Sunderland climb out of the relegation places whereas Arsenal have made things a bit more difficult in their stumble to 4th

Liverpool 2 – 2 (Saturday) Cob predicted Liverpool win – incorrect

Liverpool used to have Calamity James in goal and Simon Mignolet is more than a worthy heir to that throne. His flapping theatrics gifted Newcastle their chance to draw level. Leaves Liverpool in 7th, a point behind West Ham and four behind 5th placed Man Utd.

Bournemouth 1 – 4 Chelsea (Saturday) Cob predicted Bournemouth win – incorrect

The Cesc Fabergas show – 3 assists and a key pass for the fourth goal. Bournemouth had plenty of chances after having gone one down early on but failed to capitalise.

F.A. Cup:

Crystal Palace 2 – 1 Watford (Sunday)

Palace through to play Utd in the Final in May, a repeat of the final in 1990. Bolasie and Wickham got the goals for Palace.

Spanish Football:

Barcelona 6 – 0 Sporting Donkey

Suarez doing the business. Take it away, Des.

Italian Football:

Inter Milan’s victory over Udinese (3-1) was the first ever Serie A match with no Italians starting for either team.

Drugs in Football:

Mamadou Sakho fails a drugs test. Not suspended by the club but they decided to stand him down from weekend duties. B sample due on Tuesday. Seems to have been taking some type of fat burner. Kolo Toure got done for something similar and had to serve a 6 month ban.

MMA:

UFC 197

Jon Bones Jones takes a decision in the main card.

Other things.

Tiger News/Golf:
The Big Cat is hitting drivers and rumoured to be coming back for The Players Championship. You heard it here first!

Snooker:

Storm in a Trump cup. Judd tweets that Dominic Dale is “clueless’ after the Welsh man criticised Trump’s cue-ing. The Brighton boy is presently trailing Ding Junhui.

Selby v Baird. The Jester gets through and Dessie loved it.

Hawkins beating O’Sullivan.

McManus beat Ali Carter. Carter bitterly annoyed at the state of the table and he’s not the only one.
