Football

The football season kicks off in earnest this weekend, well the Premier League at least, and Cob is finding it hard to get excited in the early going. Elsewhere, Dundalk take on Legia Warsaw in an attempt to become the first Irish team to ever make it to the group stages of the Champions League. Jose is up to his old tricks already, bringing Juan Mata on as a substitute and then taking him off again.

Olympics

The 2016 Rio Olympics are in full swing, well maybe not quite full swing because the athletics hasn’t started yet, but we have a bit of a chat about what the most entertaining sports are to watch in week 1, and why after many Olympics, we still don’t know anything about gymnastics.

UFC202

Though the hype train from America seems pretty quiet, McGregor isn’t chirping, and the ticket sales are slow, excitement for UFC202 is building fast in the STP studio, mostly because one of us is heading over to Las Vegas next weekend to cover it. Carl still can’t call who he thinks is going to win the main event between McGregor and Nate Diaz, but he does give us some interesting insight into the undercard.
