Champions League, EPL, and La Liga

The second instalment of the first set of fixtures in the Champions League round of 16 didn’t throw up too many surprises. Barca dealt with Arsenal, Juve and Munich is finely balanced, Atletico ground out an away draw, and Man City are in good shape against Dynamo Kiev. Carl doesn’t ever want to see Arsenal vs Barcelona again.

Cob fancies Norwich to put a spanner in Leicester’s works this weekend. Never one to shy away from picking the most unlikely outcome, will he get one right for a change this weekend?

La Liga is all but over, but Real vs Atletico should make an entertaining game, but nobody in the UK and Ireland can watch it live because it’s on at 3 pm on Saturday.

MMA and McGregor Watch

dos Anjos out, Diaz in. Carl gives us his early read of how this fight is going to go. He thinks it might not be as straightforward as the bookies are making out, and is interested to see a bout between an accurate striker and a high volume striker.

Rugby

The Six Nations is trundling along towards its conclusion and for the first time in a few years, Irish interest in the outcome is minimal. Rob reckons this is the most low key trip to Twickenham since the 1990s. Elsewhere Italy take on Scotland in Wooden Spoon classic and Cob thinks Wales should have enough to get by France at home.

Snooker and Golf

Ronnie O’Sullivan blazed past Neil Robertson to win the Welsh Open last week and is now a ridiculously short price to win the World Championship. It will certainly be an entertaining couple of weeks in late April. In golf news, Rob forgot what day it was and went to preview the golf when it had already started. Professionalism personified. A busy week for Woods-watch as Tiger posted a video of himself on Twitter hitting a soft 9-iron on his home simulator. Swing is looking good!
